Andrea B. Goldberg, LCSW

Psychotherapist    Consultant    Speaker

Welcome!

We all have the potential to heal. However, when we become overwhelmed by trauma, deprivation or loss, we are blocked from using these healing capacities. When unable to put these experiences in perspective, a part of us becomes stuck in the past.

My role is to help clients to get unstuck. I have a collaborative approach to treatment. I view my clients as partners in their own healing. Feedback is welcome about what helps and what doesn't help, so my therapeutic approach can be tailored to each individual client. My treatment style is a synthesis of the many approaches I have studied over the years, informed by the latest neuroscience findings. Clients are helped to enhance existing resources and develop new coping skills in:

  • mindfulness
  • affect regulation and balance
  • grounding and containment
  • interpersonal effectiveness

I believe it is essential to continue to seek training in cutting edge therapies. To this end, I sought training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). EMDR is a method of therapy that facilitates the reprocessing of traumatic memories to enable clients to gain perspective so the past no longer interferes with the present.

I love my work! I am passionate about helping people to heal and consider it my mission in life to help repair the world, one person at a time.
